Teaching Tips - Polka

Method one

With suitable music playing: take a two-hand hold with a partner and gallop to one side for eight and back (this is far too exhausting, maybe cut that phase out completely); then gallop for four and back, then for two and back. That's a polka.

Method two

All join hands in a big ring (actually you'd better let go at some stage). With suitable music slip right for two slips, then (on a suitable cry) turn to face out and continue slipping anti-clockwise, after two more slips turn to face in. This is a ploka. Continue until everyone has got it or exhasution sets in.
